I prepared this page of a concertina sketchbook to work into - instead it serendipitously became my starting point for moving into a fluid pallette of pinks, a colour I find a little difficult. Lovely day at The Quay, catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.

A landscape looking like a lollipop. One day until our exhibition at The Quay Gallery opens. Newly received rules give us an hour to set up an entire three person exhibition from scratch. A sort of curating trolley dash...

I realise that I'm always balancing work on two contrasting themes. One will be simple, abstract and relate to colour and form, the other will be complex, decorative and informed by a (frequently convoluted) story. Also at Hereford Catherdral: a room fragrant with leather, parchment and vanilla - filled with old books that might otherwise escape.

In Shropshire, floods, snow and sunshine. Visited Hereford Cathedral to see the Mappa Mundi and also found 'The Weeping Window'.

These are 'Deep Waters', about being on Orkney and looking across cairns at the scuttled ships in the Scarpa Flow.

At the Tate this weekend, our youngest chose Freud to study a portrait painting style - which totally works for me. Serendipitously found he was at Tate Britain - but definately with more nudes than they bargained for.

This is the work of Tiggy Fiander at Future Primitive Soap Company. She creates handmade soaps and products with enchanting scent blends and weaves wonderful narratives around them. Having watched her tutorials on youtube and relished her work in every way it was a treat to drop into her Evesham workshop last week.
