I'm mesmerised by this 'Shoreline' ring which manages to be both too small AND too large for me.....

Some people recoil when they notice the skulls in my vanitas/ghost king jewellery - not the lady who was drawn into the gallery in Aldeburgh by my ink & watercolour sketch. Making a ring for a daughter who inherited a different set of genes.... I'm not going to call it an ugly sister moment.

My third time exhibiting at The Quay has just finished and it was a pleasure. Snape Maltings has its very own atmosphere of sublte, expansive, beauty. This is the first time I have seen The Cygnet under sail, looking appropriately sculptural in the company of works by Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore.

For the lady who came in and said none of the nice rings ever fitted her. Same.

I make A3 ink & watercolour sketches for myself as I work on themes in glass, they express what I'm thinking about. I like to show them with my glass when I exhibit - I've finally had prints and postcards made up of some so I don't need to refuse sales...

We are looking forward to opening at The Quay Gallery next Friday. Snape Maltings is a cultural centre in a designated 'Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty' so there is plenty to do and see aside from our printmaking and flamework glass.

Just back from Yorkshire - our very happy compromise for not driving all the way to the Scotland I grew up in. Later this year for that!

Amazing days at the end of March being properly: 'Comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb'. I took new work to Great Walsingham Gallery and enjoyed the way the sun lit up my 'Buried Treasure' rings.

Aldeburgh on Mother's Day - cars often seem generic to me. These less so - the gold one had a bench for a front seat, I haven't seen that since an uncle's vintage car as a child. That's a car.
