Profile Image

Posted by cmgaylard on July 25, 2020 at 9:30 AM

Sister (Eleanor Brown Poet) just forwarded me this, it's a combination of my Instagram profile with an image from one of my posts behind it. I wouldn't have seen it and I LOVE the juxtaposition and the heightener both images provide for each other.

A commission put together and taken away yesterday. I'm taking socially distanced studio visits by appointment.

Masks

Posted by cmgaylard on July 25, 2020 at 9:25 AM

Anyone else worn a mask inside out and upside down yet? I want one like this, there would be no mistakes AND I wouldn't have to see anything I didn't want to, medieval reliquary from Belgium.

Suffolk Craft Society Virtual Summer Exhibition

Posted by cmgaylard on July 18, 2020 at 4:55 AM

The Suffolk Craft Society Virtual Summer Exhibition opens today at 10am on their website. My expanded work for 'Moth' is on the Gallery page of this website. For the past three months I have been immersed in the muted colours and delicate patterns of moths and their peers so there is much more still to be seen (and created) I am planning to have a day of sensibly managed studio visits by appointment, date to be confirmed. A very enjoyable preview took place yesterday. Finally - a shout out to my initial muses, two exceedingly subtle and small moth remains found while sorting my studio out earlier this year.

Kiln Gods

Each of these glass clusters was made meticulously, directly in the flame onto a single, steel pin or stud - and then disembarked from it in the kiln.
