Exploring and telling stories. Celebrating colour, pattern, light and the beauty of the small.

I love to sketch, but I don't love to share my sketchbooks - they are a mine of elements, words and ideas I might take years to get to - or just revisit again and again as I try to get closer to something.

Pool and Orb rings and earrings, made entirely in the flame, the stud earrings directly onto each pin. Day 4. This week I would have been exhibiting at The Quay Gallery - instead I am posting new work every day for seven days. This work has been done since lockdown and is called ‘Source’, based on my walks through local fields and a recently discovered body of water hidden behind my studio. All items are for sale and during this week I will take orders for rings in the styles shown in different sizes. Contact me for prices and orders.

Small pond behind my studio doing an excellent impression of a Scottish Loch.

I've been making twisted cane, otherwise known as 'wigwags'.

Apart from experimenting with video and timelapse (on Insta and Facebook as I can't seem to upload here) I have been drawing from this beautiful spot for inspiration. It is tucked away so effectively (while closely) behind my studio that it's taken me five years to stumble across it. I have had to pick up various things from my (isolated) studio and so that I can accomplish some work from home, and just going and staring at this has been a gift.

Thrush? Blackbird? We are better at appreciation than identification.

Two kilns within two weeks! Aged 13&14 years old so they have both travelled to me in Thailand (from Aus and UK) and then with me to Singapore and back home to England. Not being good with numbers I had each one programmed for me by a different friend and never changed the firing schedule. One (amazingly) by a former friend and colleague from my teaching days who ended up living in Thailand at the same time as me. So they have travelled far and worked hard and it's suddenly time for me to work out how to save them.

This ornate little perfume bottle has fused to the rod, it's only coming off in pieces.
