Straightening up my studio for Saturday & Sunday’s openstudio event alongside @botanicalbeing in our respective Earl Soham studio/workshops. Moth rings - and a moth visitor - consider making an appointment with me to avoid waiting as it’s two persons max at a time for me!

Nature and alchemy, two artist/maker studios in one village - ecoprinting is one of the many skills @botanicalbeing conjures from her surroundings. Alongside a goddess vessel of mine and a window onto the distinctive Suffolk landscape that informs and inspires us to create wearableart and other treasures. We are looking forward to holding an #openstudio weekend in our respective Earl Soham studios on 3rd&4th October. Covid measures in place and visits to my studio by appointment to avoid waiting as two persons max. Maria’s studio is a more generous size!

I'm running up a week's posts from Facebook and Instagram on here as I can't update my website from my phone and I have been MOBILE. The weather has also been busy - gale force winds to this.

Glass Cloud ring with translucent raindrop counterpoise. sculpted entirely in the flame. Does anyone else remember Mood Rings? I will have a range of these latest rings - each one as different as the weather - at my upcoming Open Studio weekend event with Botanical Being.

Workbench photo, glass Cloud ring with translucent raindrop counterpoise. Sculpted entirely in the flame. I was going to make the cloud matte by etching it but decided it looks like the moment the sun breaks through the clouds and slate-grey sky of a summer storm. Take the weather with you.

Caddisfly and Moth glass rings over an uncannily clear patch of workbench. Some serious sorting and cleaning is underway for my shared #openstudio weekend with Botanical Being the first weekend of October.

Glass Caddisfly ring and hairsticks with ornate finials from me and deep-hued walnut and acorn inks made by @botanicalbeing, save the date for our Open Studios this coming weekend. 3rd & 4th October 10.30 - 4pm. Enjoy some inspiration and creative vision, get a glimpse behind the scenes. Visits to my studio limited to two persons (so make an appointment to avoid waiting) Covid measures in place.

I appear to have missed AN ENTIRE FIELD OF SUNFLOWERS blooming behind my studio. I got the last one standing and a blue sky today though.

September, Suffolk sky and glass etched Cloud ring with translucent raindrop counterpoise. Sculpted entirely in the flame. Take the weather with you.

Magic on the River Deben. Felixstowe Docks looking like the riviera, and the blue sphere of the boat compass putting me in mind of my Little World pins.

The sloes have NEVER been this abundant, I'm told it's warning of a harsh winter, presumably with the consolation of quality Sloe Gin.

‘Understand that thou art a second little world and that the sun and the moon are within thee, and also the stars.’ Origen. Little World glass lapel pins.

Well that’s the SCS Pop-ups over and a big thank you to everyone who came by to visit and support is at what was a very scaled-down event from our usual Summer Exhibition. It felt like a bit of a triumph given the challenges of this year and was lovely to catch up with peers and visitors. This was on the evening we closed, seagulls not being unsettling at all...

Feeling pretty autumnal around here now... Ladybirds like set-jewels.
